Host of Wontumi morning show, Oheneba Nana Asiedu, has made a stunning claim about the internal dynamics of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, Dr. Kwaku Asiedu Nketia, son of the NDC’s General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia, faced intense scrutiny and vetting before being appointed Deputy CEO of the Minerals Income Investment Fund.
Oheneba Nana Asiedu alleges that certain factions within the NDC opposed Dr. Nketia’s appointment due to his father’s growing influence within the party. Asiedu Nketia is perceived as a potential flagbearer, and some party members allegedly view him as a threat to their own interests. This has led to simmering tensions and power struggles within the NDC, which are not publicly disclosed.
In contrast, Oheneba notes that the NPP tends to be more open about its internal issues, which can create the misconception that the NPP is more divided.
“There’s no peace within the NDC too, but they won’t come out to say those things in public,” he claims, suggesting that the NDC’s silence on internal conflicts may be a deliberate attempt to maintain a united front.
