Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee Member Dr. Tony Aubynn has indicated the Black Galaxies are “quite ready” to play Nigeria in the final round of qualification games in the CAF Championship of African Nations (CHAN).
Ghana plays Nigeria later this month at the Accra Stadium in the first of two legs and the winner qualifies to compete at the 2023 CHAN in Algeria.
“We are quite ready for Nigeria, we are not going to relax until we have overcome Nigeria. I know they are very serious about us given the history…we are also motivated to do what we know best” he stated to CITI Sports.
He made the statement at the launch of the Official Match Ball Carrier (OMBC) Selection process at the GFA Headquarters earlier today, Dr. Aubynn talked positively about the team’s preparation ahead of the tough challenge.
The OMBC is headlined by Rana Motors and is geared towards selecting a Ghanaian amateur footballer aged between 10-14 to be an Ambassador at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Black Galaxies beat Benin 4-0 on aggregate in the previous round and will compete in a four nation friendly tournament in Austria before taking on Nigeria.
