27year old trader, Dora Kudazie from Akwapim says her abusive boyfriend who is a cobbler and known as Godfred Assifu with whom she has a child, should refund her Gh5,000 expenses she incurred during her pregnancy, childbirth and take responsibility of their child.
Speaking on Wontumi Nka Wasem today, Tuesday, 23rd August, 2022, Dora lamented that her boyfriend and father of child after discussed marriage plans with her which led her to co-habitat with him. According to Dora, she endured torture and maltreatment for 3 years . She stated that the father of her child began paying no attention to her after breaking the news of her pregnancy to him.
Dora asserted that Godfred became more furious because she refused to terminate the pregnancy for the third time, and was always found at his mercy at the least opportunity. The trader claimed her mother asked her to return home knowing the brouhaha she was facing, and since she was almost due for labor so she can properly take care of her. She decided to report the several beatings she suffered and failure to take responsibility on Godfred’s side to the police, where she was directed to DOVVSU since it was a domestic abuse case but to no avail hence her decision to seek help from the Wontumi Nka Wasem team. The team has however taken up the case and are probing into it to get it resolved.
