ADB To Support Rebranding Of Press Centre

The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has pledged to support the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) to build the capacities of journalists in the country as well as the rebranding of the Accra International Press Center.

The Bank which has been a partner of the GJA since 2018, has also reaffirmed its support for the upcoming GJA Awards which will be held on November 12, 2022, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City.

The Managing Director of the ADB, Mr. John Kofi Mensah, made the remarks when the Executives of the GJA paid a courtesy call on the Bank yesterday in Accra.

This visit forms part of the GJA’s plan to collaborate with key partner institutions to explore opportunities for the development of the GJA and the various institutions.

At the meeting, the GJA President, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour called on the ADB to support the Association in its quest to rebrand the headquarters of the GJA which is the Press Centre.

He also called on the Bank to uplift its support towards the GJA Awards and as well help the Association build the capacities of journalists.

The GJA President who acknowledged the support of the ADB towards the media commended the Bank, especially on the part of its corporate social responsibilities, and assured the bank of the GJA’s commitment towards the bank in the area of promoting Agribusiness.

For his part, Mr. Kofi Mensah who noticed the critical role of the media in promoting Agribusiness noted that the human capital development of the media was also critical.

“We want to say that we want to see your human capital development, we want to support you in those areas to support your good citizenship with mother Ghana,” he said.

Mr. Kofi Mensah also assured that the ADB will support the GJA to rebrand the International  Press Center when it gets details of the project.

He also called on the GJA to support the ADB to promote Agribusiness and also called for a deepened relationship between the two institutions.

“We want to assure you that as it was, we are going to do the same and even more together with you so that we can move higher,” he added.
