2024 Elections: I’m Not Surprised NDCs Are Bringing Back John Mahama; Their Minds Are Stagnant – Paul Opoku

The first Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Paul Opoku, has stated the National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) decision to bring back former President John Mahama as the 2024 flag bearer, clearly shows the party doesn’t have a change mindset.

He said this when he joined Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Monday 26th September, 2022.

In his submission he said that ‘’the beauty of every constitution is the ability to amend or make changes that will help in the growth of the country. The NDC as a party are not prone to change, everything to them must remain the same. I am not surprise they are bringing back John Mahama as the flag bearer for the 2024 elections, they have a stagnant mindset – they don’t want change. Anyone who refuses change does that solely for his or her selfish interest and nothing else .

”Every country is ruled by laws. The NDC’s are the same people who passed the law to make Ghana card the sole source of identity while in power, and after passing the law they realized they have made a mistake because the law will go against them in spite of the over hundred and forty one million dollars they spent- they could not implement the law after 8 solid years”.

”There is no way NDC’s will come close to the Presidency come 2024 because the Akufo-Addo led government is determined to revamp the current economic conditions of the country”, he added.

In February 2012, Alhassan Azong, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Builsa South and former Minister of state for Public Sector under the late Mills government between 2009 and 2013 laid before Parliament, and passed the National Identity Register Regulations, 2012 (LI 2111).
