The host of Movement In The Morning Show, Kwaku Dawuro has revealed some New Patriotic Party (NPP) members are behind the calling for the arrest of Chairman Wontumi over allegedly involving himself in galamsey.
Throwing the rebuttal he said that ”a lot of people are with the assumption that the Ashanti Region is NPP dominated so its easy to win . Chairman Wontumi was part of the people who financially supported the NPP during the tamale conference that led to the selection of Paul Afoko. At the time, the party was in opposition and they needed money for the conference. That particular conference was sponsored by Chairman Wontumi, Kennedy Agyapong and the former Eastern Regional chairman, Chairman Kissi. Chairman Wontumi’s mining machines were seized and burnt by the NDC, and now his own party members wants to sabotage him. A person’s enemies are indeed his own households”.
”Chairman Wontumi established a media house purposely to propagate the work of the NPP government, yet we have some party members who have risen against him, just to destroy his integrity”, he added.
He advised the party members to refrain from destroying internal people because of their personal interest.
