Former Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Dr. Kwabena Kokofu, has urged the rank and file of the party to give their eye on the prize and focus on ensuring Dr. Bawumia wins the 2024 elections.
Dr. Kwabena Kokofu, made it clear that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) top priority is to ensure Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes the next President of Ghana.
This comes after public uproar and agitations, on the late announcement of a running mate for Dr. Bawumia.
While speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV, the former Bantama MP repeatedly stressed that the focus is squarely on Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy, and not on who will be selected as his running mate.
“The main focus is to ensure Dr. Bawumia becomes the next President, and not who the running mate will be,” he emphasized.
Dr. Kokofu reiterated that the party’s ultimate goal is to secure victory for Dr. Bawumia, and that all efforts should be directed towards achieving this objective. He noted that the selection of a running mate is important, but it is secondary to the main goal of ensuring Dr. Bawumia’s victory.
“The running mate will complement Dr. Bawumia’s ticket, but the focus is on Dr. Bawumia’s leadership and vision for the country,” Dr. Kokofu explained.
He urged party members to keep their eyes on the prize and work together to ensure a resounding victory for Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming election.
