Ghanaian defensive midfielder Bismark Adjei-Boateng scored his first league goal of the 2022-2023 Romania’s Liga 1 season as CFR Cluj drew 1-1 with UTA Arad.
The 28 year old darted to the near post to head in Ciprain Deac’s cross in the 32nd minute to give Cluj the lead but Alexandru Benga equalized in the 59th minute. (Click highlighted text to watch goal)
Adjei-Boateng was later substituted in the 61st minute with Karlo Muhar while fellow Ghanaian Emmanuel Yeboah checked into the game earlier in the 60th minute for Daniel Birligea.
The goal is Adjei-Boateng’s first in seven league games this season and has featured in all three UEFA Conference League games. Cluj ranks bottom in Group G with four points same as the other three teams in the Group.
This is Former Right To Dream Academy player Adjei-Boateng’s second season with Cluj after spending a brief time with Palloseura in Finland.
Cluj ranks third in the 16 team league standings with seven wins and a draw in 11 games; league leader Farul Constanta has nine wins in 13 league games.
Cluj plays Czech Republic side Slavia Prague in the Conference League next on Thursday, October 13 at 16:45 GMT.
