Agenda 111: Okere District Hospital To Be Completed By March 2024- DCE Discloses

District Chief Executive for Okere District, Honourable Daniel Nana Addo Kenneth has disclosed that the agenda 111 project ongoing in the district will be completed in March 2024.

He noted that when completed, the hospital will be a 40-bed capacity, 2 theatres, 2 operating theatres, Male /female /children ward, resident house for doctors, cold-room, Administration block, Consulting room, The OPD, Maternity, Storeroom for medicines and other facilities.

“We are almost done with the project with the edifice almost completed. The only thing left is the interior. The cold-room is ready. The Theatre land administration block is equally in progress. Once, we get the equipment available, we will soon start operations…”, he said.

“This should be done in three months ahead…We had a left of challenges because the allocated land was on a mountain and thus, we had to undergo processes including soil testing, profiling and all the necessary requirements…”, he said whiles speaking in an interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV. 

He emphasized on how essential the hospital will be to residents of Akuapem and its surroundings, as their only referral hospital is the Mampong Hospital.

“Many districts don’t have district hospitals. Residents in Aburi, parts of Oyarifa to Madina, Yilo Krobo and Akuapem North, were all relying on Mampong hospital. But, when the district hospital is completed, it will become a thing of the past…”, he added.
