Private legal practitioner, William Kusi, has said that public court proceedings can be televised to give the public room to witness court happenings.
Speaking on Movement in the Morning on Friday 22nd April, 2022, he said that televising the proceedings will help ensure some judges succumb to their prejudice.
“When a court case is Public, it means it is opened to everyone, therefore televising it is not a problem. It will rather prevent misrepresentation in the media reportage. My issue has to do with the cost involved and the will burden it will have on the coffers of the state” he said.
He added that exemptions can be given to private cases to protect victims involved.

This decision was taken in a petition brought before the Supreme Court by Michael Ankomah-Nimfa, a resident of Assin Bereku in the Central Region who had insisted that Mr. Quayson was not qualified to contest the Assin North parliamentary seat because, at the time of filing his nomination, he owed allegiance to another country other than Ghana.
