Akufo-Addo Urges Speedy Completion Of Motorway Flyover And Ofankor-Nsawam Road Projects

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo expressed satisfaction with the progress made on the motorway flyover and Ofankor-Nsawam road projects during an inspection tour.

He urged contractors to expedite their work to meet the scheduled completion dates.

The motorway flyover is a $200 million project which commenced in March 2017. The project includes additional ramps, improvements at the Flowerpot roundabout, and access to East Legon.

At the Ofankor-Nsawam project site, President Akufo-Addo was met with cheers from party supporters.

The $300 million project, featuring three lanes, service roads, and interchanges, has had its completion schedule extended by nearly a year.

However, portions of the road are expected to open to traffic by year-end. Akufo-Addo commended the contractors on the quality of work, saying, “I’m happy to see that in all of this, the quality of the work that is being done is very impressive and that is what is giving me a lot of satisfaction.”

“The contractors who are working here are doing a very work so we should all encourage them, try as much as possible to finish so that the road can fully be actualised in operation.”
