The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has debunked claims by former Presidential aspirant of the party, Alan Kojo Kyeremanten, that the party has been hijacked by a selected group of people.
Speaking to Journalist at the NPP’s Headquarters in Accra, the party’s General Secretary Justine Kodua Frimpong, noted that such claims are false and made without any shred of evidence.
Justine Kodua explained that NPP is the first political party in Ghana in 2010 to have increased the number of delegates to vote for executives of the party from 1998 to 106, 590.
Mr. Kyerematen made the accusation following his resignation from the NPP with immediate effect to pursue his 2024 presidential ambition as an candidate.
Speaking on Monday, at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra he said: “The party has been hijacked by a selected group of party leaders and elders, government appointees, “behind the curtain power brokers and some unscrupulous party apparatchiks.
