Veteran Ghanaian football administrator, Alhaji Grusah, has urged Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku to step down, expressing dissatisfaction with his leadership.
Grusah’s call comes in the aftermath of the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. The team ended their campaign at the bottom of Group F with just three points, failing to secure a single victory.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite, Grusah voiced his frustration over the state of Ghanaian football under Okraku’s tenure and urged him to resign for the betterment of the sport.
“For me, I think Kurt Okraku should resign and calmly leave our football,” he stated.
The outspoken administrator also pledged his support for any efforts to remove Okraku from office.
“I will gladly accept and be involved in any attempt to take Kurt out of power,” he added.
Grusah went further, appealing to the government to intervene if Okraku refuses to step down.
“I’m calling on the President of Ghana, Akufo-Addo, and the Sports Minister to dissolve the Ghana Football Association (GFA). FIFA will not sanction Ghana for that,” he said.
Meanwhile, the GFA’s Executive Council is scheduled to meet on Wednesday to discuss the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON tournament.
