Andre Ayew Makes Second Le Havre Debut In Ligue 1 Clash Against Lyon

Black Stars captain Andre Ayew made his first competitive appearance this season after coming off the bench in Le Havre’s game against Olympique Lyonnais.

The 34-year-old, who rejoined the Ligue 1 outfit early this month, was making his second debut for the club, but Le Havre were hammered 4-0 at home.

Ayew is expected to have a huge impact on the club following his second return after helping them stay up with his impressive displays last season. He scored five times after joining them halfway through the campaign last season as they battled for survival.

His return to competitive football is also huge boost for the Ghana national team, who have been struggling without his services and leadership.

Meanwhile, in a one-sided game at the Stade Oceane, Abner Vinícius opened the scoring for the visitors just before half time. Malick Fofana, who was replaced in the second half by Ghana’s Ernest Nuamah, doubled the lead before the hour mark.

Ayew then came on for Timothée Pembélé in the 66th minute before ex-Arsenal forward Alexander Lacazette increased the tally for Lyon. Algerian forward Said Benrahma completed the mauling with three minutes left.
