In a quick reminder to former President John Mahama, Chairman Wontumi has informed him that Asamoah Gyan can’t mentor his son who plays “netball and not football”.
Mr. Mahama has been captured saying that his son, Sharaf Mahama is modeling his game after legendary forward Asamoah Gyan.
But Mr. Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi quipped that Asamoah Gyan is known for his football achievements unlike Mr. Mahama’s son who is trying to build his career in the netballing society.
He therefore wondered why Mr. Mahama is forcing a football legend like Asamoah Gyan to mentor his son who hasn’t played “small poles before”.
“Anytime John Mahama gets the opportunity to speak, he just refuses to be factual. His own son plays netball in India but he wants to force him on Asamoah Gyan. Even ‘small poles’ the son of Mr. Mahama hasn’t played some before but he wants to portray the boy as someone who can play football”, Chairman Wontumi said in an interview he granted Movementtvonline.com.
Ahead of the launch of his maiden memoir, former Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan paid a courtesy call on ex-President Mahama.
The former Black Stars captain will be launching his book on Saturday, April 30, 2022 and took time off to hand Mr. Mahama an invite to the occasion.
