Former Vice Chairperson for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Omari Wadie has noted that electorates of Assin North do not just need a Member of Parliament, but they are yearning for development.
He noted that the electorates are not going to vote in the upcoming by-elections to elect just a Member of Parliament but will vote for someone who could easily lobby for developmental projects into the constituency because they have lagging behind.
“This election is about development. The NDC can continue sharing the wellington boots, machetes among others, but what they need to know is that the electorates are wise enough now to know what is good and bad for them- they are yearning for development and thus, will vote for development which is Charles Opoku”, he told Oheneba Asiedu on Movement In The Morning Show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio.Â
Adding that the development they want have already begun sprawling up in the constituency- as government has already begun constructing roads, drilling boreholes among others.
“The agenda 111 project has also begun. Gov’t will be inspecting the project today. On education too, we have done a lot. I heard the Deputy Education Minister also highlighting a few of them including buses and pickups for Senior High Schools”, he added.
In furtherance he said that whatever that is left the people of Assin North need, so long as NPP remains in power, they will definitely get it if Charles Opoku is their Member of Parliament.
“What was Gyakye Quayson able to do for the people after 2 years? He wasn’t able to lobby for funds and development for the constituency. Charles Opoku has done a lot, even when he wasn’t a Member of Parliament. This is an indication that when he’s given the nod, he will do more”, he said.
In conclusion, he said that the NPP is ready to have a clean campaign towards the by-election on Tuesday June 27, 2023.
