President Akufo-Addo has praised vice President Mahamudu Bawumia for being a lieutenant he can trust in his darkest moments.
In an address to the nation on updates to Ghana’s enhanced response to the coronavirus pandemic, on Sunday, 28th may 2023, President Akufo-Addo reserved a special mention for his vice stating that he is grateful for the support he has provided to him.
“I must make special mention of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who was my reliable source of support in the darkest and most trying moments”, President Akufo-Addo said.
He also appreciated others who advised him in public and private when Ghana was hit with the pandemic.
“And to the many who advised me publicly and privately, supported and prayed for me, I say thank you.
The emergency is over. Unfortunately, the consequences are very much still with us, especially in terms of the economic devastation it has left in its trail”, he said.
