Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has had discussions with players in the automotive industry in the United Kingdom (UK) as part of his efforts to attract them to Ghana.
Dr Bawumia said the meeting was to expose the investment opportunities that exist in Ghana to them.
The meeting was on the sidelines of his working visit to the UK.
In a tweet on Friday, June 9, he said “I held separate meetings with auto giants in the UK to explore opportunities available for investments in the auto industry in Ghana, and also launched the UK-Ghana Investor Group.
‘The central objective of these meetings was to create a business-friendly and synergistic relationship between Ghana and UK investors.”
He added, “It was refreshing to learn how determined auto industries in the UK are ready and willing to create viable investments in Ghana through partnerships.”
