Chairman Wontumi has slammed former President John Mahama describing his posture before the revered National Chief Imam, as demonic.
The Ashanti region Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) posits that Mr. Mahama stalled the development of Ghana and set destroyed our economy before President Akufo-Addo succeeded him.
His comment comes on the back of a prayer request Mr. Mahama put before the National Chief Imam Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu when he visited him at his residence.
Chairman Wontumi was therefore surprised the former leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) could act like a “demon” by speaking as if he wasn’t the major reason the economy of Ghana is facing some form of crisis.
“Former President Mahama allowed corruption to be part of his government and never did anything about it. Again his administration did little to improve the educational system of Ghana. When it comes to energy which is a major driving force of our economy, he left us with energy crisis and he didn’t consider all that before speaking to the Chief Imam.”
Chairman Wontumi continued that “for President Akufo-Addo to make our economy vibrant, he had to solve all this problems John Mahama left behind and I find it baffling he (Mahama) isn’t admitting his successor is solving the mess he left behind”.
Mr. Mahama during his visit appealed to the Chief Imam to use Ramadan period to intercede for Ghana and save it from the disastrous economic crisis it is currently facing.
“Our nation is in very deep crisis and we need all the intersession that is possible to save our nation from the disaster that is facing us”, he said as he observed Iftar with the Muslim leader.
