Black Stars Can Still Qualify For The 2025 AFCON Tournament – Sannie Daara

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has urged Black Stars head coach Otto Addo to select the top players for the team’s final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.

The senior national team will face Palancas Negras on November 15 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Angola, and will then host the Niger Republic three days later at the Accra Sports Stadium.

As Otto Addo prepares to announce the squad for these crucial games, Sannie Daara has dismissed calls for local players to be prioritized, emphasizing the need for the highest caliber of talent to ensure qualification.

“We have to do anything possible to ensure that we qualify for the AFCON, so we have to invite the best players because we are still in the race for qualification,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

“We won against Mali in the World Cup qualifiers, so it’s still possible that we can win in Angola and beat Niger as well.”

He noted Ghana’s recent win against Mali in the World Cup qualifiers as a positive sign, affirming, “We have the players and talent to do it.”

With two draws and two losses so far, the Black Stars are currently in third place in Group F.

To secure a spot in the AFCON tournament, Ghana must win both remaining games while hoping Sudan falls to Niger and Angola in their upcoming matches.
