Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante-Twum has revealed that a replacement for former Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, could be announced in January.
The Borussia Dortmund trainer scout, left his role following Ghana’s group stage exit from the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Speaking in a press conference in December 2022, Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, Mark Addo stated that the association had a plan in place for Otto Addo’s successor.
According to Asante-Twum who was speaking on Asempa FM, the GFA is now assessing reports from various committees from the World Cup, before a final decision will be made on who takes over from Otto Addo.
“Ghana FA is now focusing on reports of the various committees of the Black Stars at the World Cup. Once that is done, the new technical team will be set up,”
“I think it will be this month. From the conversations going on, it is very likely a new head coach of the Black Stars will be appointed this month.
“There will be an EXCO meeting soon and everything will be finalised there.”
The Ghana Football Association will be aiming to put in place a new technical team for the Black Stars in time for the 2023 AFCON Qualifier against Angola in March.
