The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has served notice that it will continue to tackle illegal foreign exchange operations in the country.
The central bank said in a statement that offenders shall be dealt with in accordance with the law.
“Bank of Ghana in collaboration with National Security and law enforcement agencies will continue to clamp down on illegal foreign exchange operations. All offenders shall be dealt with in accordance with the law,” the regulator said.
The BoG further cautioned against persons who are pricing in dollars in the country.
“The general public is hereby notified that the sole legal tender in Ghana is the Ghana Cedi,” the statement said.
