An aspiring National Youth Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has charged government appointees to empower the youth to realize the dream of breaking the 8.
According to him the youth of the party worked tirelessly in previous elections and their input is very much needed for victory in 2024.
In highlighting his intentions for the youth wing of the party if he emerges victorious, Mustapha told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Political Show that he will create a specialized bank account to finance the operations of the NPP’s youth wing.
He said, “as a special wing of the party, it’s very prudent that there are always resources available for its operations. It’s very sad that some youth organizers are sometimes left with no option than to borrow money elsewhere to operate. Hence the need to create an account which I will mobilize funds myself to ensure there are always resources available. Breaking the eight depends on the youth wing and we must do something out of the ordinary.”
The former deputy Youth Organiser, further mentioned that he will also ensure the youth wing of the party is digitized. ” My youth wing will have its own website, and an app for all TESCON institutions. We are doing modern day politics and must inculcate modern day technologies which will require a database”, Salam added.
Mr. Mustapha categorically stated that he stands tall among his contenders considering the roles he has played.
He stressed, ”In the 2020 campaign I played a leading role from my personal expertise as an individual. There were times I had to embark on campaigns with my own resources, especially in constituencies where the parliamentary candidates for the NPP were young. If you want to lead, you must show capacity. I have the abilities and capabilities to get things done, the reason I was able to campaign with my own resources for my party and some parliamentary candidates.”
”To whom much is given, much is expected. If I’m given the opportunity, I will do more. The NPP remains the hope for the Ghanaian youth and this is the message we are carrying along”, he added.
