The Head of Monitoring at the Ministry of Sports, Kwame Baa Mensa, has advised government to bring back the Ministry of Monitoring And Evaluation to measure performance of the public sector.
In an interview on Movement in the Morning, a political show which airs on Movement Tv, he raised concerns on how some of the structures and policies at some public sectors do not meet current standards.
“Some structures and operational tools have been in existence for over fifty years and it no longer efficient; they do not meet the demands of the current environment. We must change the structures and tools of some public offices and get the right people who will diligently do the job”, he said
“The President should have an agency that checks performance and police policies to ensure they achieve target. Checks and maintenance culture must be regular”, he added.
According to Kwame Baa Mensa a lot of people at some public offices have been allowed to do what they want- which has become a big threat in the public sector.
He admonished government to bring back the Ministry of Monitoring And Evaluation which is now an agency.
