Call For The Review Of The 17 Million Excess Capacity Charges And Leave Free SHS Alone-Asafo Adjei Tells President Mahama

The deputy Director of External Affairs for the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Nana Asafo Adjei, has called on former President John Dramani Mahama to demand for the review of the excess capacity charges that has posed financial risk on the country’s economy.

While speaking on John Mahama’s call for the review of the free SHS policy with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show,  Mr Adjei advised the former President to leave the life changing policy alone.

He said ”Mahama does not have issues with the 17 million take or pay excess capacity charges but  he is here worrying Ghanaians over the 5 million life changing policy. Government is carrying a debt from the energy sector due to the bad energy policy that was introduced by the Mahama led administration”.

”John Mahama’s father transferred him from Achimota school to the Ghana Secondary School in the Northern Region to enjoy the free shs policy. I disagree with him and those demanding for the review of the policy. There are millions of brilliant children who had to drop out from school due to financial constraint”, he added.

He advised President Akufo-Addo to invest more in the flagship policy if there’s any extra funds.
