The Director of Communications for the Ghana Gas, Ernest Owusu Bempah, also known as Billy Goat, says Chairman Wontumi is a movement to break the 8 in 2024.
On Monday 30th May 2022, he joined the host, Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Political Show.
In his submission, he said, “I have always said that no one knows Chairman Wontumi than I do-we have gone through all the faces of life together. I know his capabilities and his strength, so decided to campaign for him again just as we did the first time’’, he said.
“I remember in 2014, I told delegates in the Ashanti Region that Wontumi is the man to help NPP’s victory in the Ashanti Region, and lo and behold, it happened. We went back again to speak to people, this time, to focus more on capturing political power come 2024 and to bring in someone who is tried and tested for the journey ahead. They believed us and retained Chairman Wontumi’’, he added.
He showed appreciation to the people who supported the Wontumi movement.“185 vote difference is a fantastic job. This is not the time to apportion blame. Chairman Wontomi did not win the elections- NPP won the elections. If we should get 75% of the vote cast in the Ashanti region, we will still be in government and we are going to ensure we get more than 75% in 2024’’, Billy goat said.
He called on government appointees to play their role to safeguard NPP’s win in 2024, adding that the current bitterness among party members will be reduced eventually and things will go back to normal.
