The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has expressed gratitude to President Nana Akufo-Addo, vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare for coming to his aide during the burial of his mother.
On Saturday 25th March, 2023, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi buried his mother. The brurial service was held at St. George’s Catholic, Kuntanase and the final funeral service was held at Kuntanase School Park near the police station.
A sombre Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi told Wontumionline.com after the burial of his mother that he appreciates the love shown by both the National Executives and Regional Executives of the NPP.
He also expressed gratitude to the NPP Members of Parliament who supported and singled out Constituency Chairmen from the Ashanti region for praise.
On the CEO of COCOBOD, Mr. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, Chairman Wontumi expressed profound gratitude for his gesture and followed it up with special praise for Hon. Henry Kokofu, the Executive Director of Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The presence of MD for Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) and that of the deputy CEO of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), didn’t escape the eye of Chairman Wontumi who was full of praise for their massive support.
In showing reverence to traditional authorities whose presence made the occasion one to remember, Chairman Wontumi thanked the Paramount chief of the Kuntanase Traditional Council, Barima Ogyeabour Amankwaah Adunan II and the chief of Asumenya.
A special thank you was also reserved for the Chief of Agric Nzema, Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo for the role he played in supporting the funeral.
Chairman Wontumi singled out the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah and Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum for being by his side during his tough moment.
Priests from the Roman Catholic Church were also honoured by Chairman Wontumi as he stated that their efforts and presence contributed to how smooth the final rites were performed for his late mother.
He also mentioned lady pastor Vida as a pillar throughout the funeral and praised Lawyer Maurice Ampaw for being there for him as well.
Lastly, Chairman Wontumi praised his family members, the people of Kuntanase and all listeners of Wontumi radio, Wontumi TV and Movement TV for showing up in their numbers and showing concern when they heard about his pain.
