Born Joseph Anokye but known in the public space as Joe Anokye is a Ghanaian politician, a geodetic engineer, a technology guru and currently the Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), who has risen beyond height to attain his present status.
He obtained his first degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and his MBA from the Maryland University College, USA.
Joe Anokye is not part of the people who are afraid of height-he started his career journey somewhere in 1997 where he worked on many contracts at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, Maryland. He was the Senior Telecommunications Consultants, and supervised the Telecommunication Wide Area Network (WAN) technical team in the US until 2016.
You cannot talk about Technology without first talking about Joe Anokye- he has played very instrumental role in the tech narrative, and it was not surprising when he won the 2007 Employee of the Year Award from the NASA Information Technology Services Contract, at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville-Alabama for his exceptional technical services.
His many years of experience led him to consult for the Merchant bank, Ghana Telecom, the National Security and other companies on various telecommunication network projects.
On 24th January 2017, Joe Anokye was appointed the Acting General of the National Communications Authority (NCA) and he was confirmed on 15th January, 2018. In 2017, he was awarded the Best Telecommunications Industry Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the year in the public sector for his outstanding leadership in the technology industry.
He received a certificate of completion for the Senior Executives in National and International Security Programs from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
We celebrate a legend, a man who has gone beyond reasonable doubt to contribute massively in the Technological space and impact many lives.
