1st vice constituency chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in Dome-Kwabenya, Paul Opoku has told the government to priortise the development of roads in Ashanti region.
He explained that the needed attention in that region is to win the heart of people so that they could vote for the NPP. However, there are a lot of tourist attractions in the region that if the roads are developed, will encourage more people to visit the region, which will rake in revenue for the country.
“Although it is important for every government to ensure that every part of the country is developed. However, you don’t bite the hands that feed you…. politics is all about power and if you lose it as government, the good works you’ve done wouldn’t be recognized”, he said on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV.
He furthered that the NPP has done and is doing a whole lot for the country including AGENDA 111 among other things. But the significance of Ashanti region in ensuring the party remains in power can never be overlooked.
“What we need to know is that besides the political points we will score in the region if we develop the region, because the region also serves as a cultural center, a lot more tourists will troop the region and that would raise revenue to boost the economy of Ghana….so aside from the economic benefit, we are also going to win the heart of the indigenes to vote for us and thus, we are killing two birds with a stone”, he told Kwaku Dauwro.
He advised that the party focuses on areas where the electorates vote massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP)
