A member of the NPP communications team, Ellen Ama Darku has advised embattled former MP for Assin North, not to be swayed by the NDC to contest in the upcoming by-election in Assin north.
She noted that it will be better off for James Gyakye Quayson to withdraw and wait till the court acquits and discharges him, then he knows he’s fully cleared so that he could contest the 2024 elections.
“He need to be a clue from Adamu Sankandi’s case. I’m very sure his family had advised him, but he chose to listen to his party, and it ended very bad and crestfallen for him. I will advise the family of James Gyakye Quayson to speak to him and let him know the consequence will be dire if he’s convicted by the court”, Ellen told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV.
She added that the ousted Member of Parliament should have in mind that once he’s convicted, he will serve his jail term alone.
“He should bear in mind that there’s not even a single person from the NDC that will enter the prison with him. His family are the only people going to suffer if he’s imprisoned but as for the NDCs, there’s nothing they will lose. He shouldn’t be deceived by Amaliba and the NDC”, she emphasized.
“Today, Ofosu Ampofo goes to court all alone because he holds no position in the party. That’s exactly what they are going to do to Gyakye Quayson if he’s convicted by the court”, she stressed.
