Dr. Bawumia has on Monday, 1st July, 2024, formally informed National Officers of the NPP of his nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as his running mate in the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
The meeting which occurred at the NPP’s headquarters in Asylum Down follows an earlier presentation of Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s nomination to the majority caucus of Parliament.
The nomination, however, awaits the decision of the National Council which is the final approving organ of the NPP.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s experience in the education sector and his achievements, such as the implementation of the Free SHS program, are expected to resonate with the electorate, particularly in the crucial Ashanti region.
