A communications team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Awal Mohammed has said that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the most technocratic VEEP Ghana has ever had.
Whiles telling delegates to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the flagbearer for the party and subsequently the President for the republic, he noted that the vice President is the most marketable candidate among all those contesting for the flagbearership race.
“If you have a five-year-old child at home, kindly do this simple survey, by showing that kid a picture of all the candidates and ask the kid to mention their names, and I tell you the only candidate whom that child could mention his name easily is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia…you don’t need to market him and let people know he’s the next flagbearer for the party because it’s obvious, he said on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV.Â
He furthered that it is so easy to couch a message that will help Bawumia win the elections.
He expressed gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for vehemently denied allegations that he is supporting one of the candidates seeking to lead the New Patriotic Party into the 2024 elections.
“Dr. Bawumia is the only person who could unify this party…and I’m putting it on record that Dr. Bawumia will not get less than eighty per cent of the total votes of the super delegates conference…We’ve really worked hard, and we need to let Ghanaians know that Dr. Bawumia didn’t just set out to launch his campaign…He had earlier met with Parliamentarians including Joe Ghartey who is also contesting, to declare his intention…he also visited Chiefs, constituency and regional executives before publicly declaring his intention”, he added.
He disclosed that Dr. Bawumia’s has capable men across the 275 constituencies and if it’s just ten people Dr. Bawumia needs as polling agents, he will get it at the polling station.
“It’s easy for you to know that among all those contesting for the flagbearership race, Dr. Bawumia is the only threat to Mahama”, he concluded.
