Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has expressed his confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s ability to lead the country.
Speaking on the Spotlight show with Isaac Otoo on Movement TV, Freddie Blay stated that Dr. Bawumia has never denied being part of the NPP government and thus, shouldn’t be blamed for the woes the country had had to face, following the outbreak of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war.
According to Freddie Blay, the NPP party executives will not tolerate any criticism of the party’s performance. He acknowledged that the party is not perfect but emphasized that the road construction and other projects undertaken by the NPP government have improved Ghana’s economic growth.
Freddie Blay also highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s contributions to the country’s development, particularly during his eight-year tenure as Vice President.
He praised Dr. Bawumia for supporting President Akufo-Addo in achieving significant milestones.
Freddie Blay concluded by stating that Dr. Bawumia is the ideal candidate to take over the reins of power and continue the good work of President Akufo-Addo. This endorsement comes as Dr. Bawumia prepares to lead the NPP into the upcoming elections.
