The economic advisor and spokesperson for the vice President, Dr. Mahmud Bawumia, Dr Gideon Boako has noted that there’s no single constituency the vice president did not visit to campaign for the new Patriotic Party (NPP) Party.
Speaking on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV/Wontumi Radio, Dr Gideon Boako explained that aside from the President Akufo-Addo, if there’s any other person that has touched based with the grassroot and of the country to campaign for the NPP, then it’s Dr. Bawumia- as there’s not even a single constituency in Ghana that he had never visited.
“There’s no constituency that Dr Mahmud Bawumia did not visit to campaign for the NPP, even when the party was in opposition. I’m not saying he did the work alone, but he sacrificed a lot for the party while in opposition. In fact, he is the lover boy of the party,” he added.
Stressing that anytime NPP is mentioned as a political party, the person whose name has been attached to the party is Dr. Mahmud Bawumia. He’s the person in the history of Ghana to rub shoulders with a sitting President, even as an opposition running mate.
“John Mahama as a President was always responding to assertions from Dr. Bawumia, who was in opposition. He’s proven beyond reasonable doubt that he’s up to the task- he’s brought a new energy into the NPP,” he stressed.
