Lecturer at the University for Professional Studies (UPSA), Dr. Joseph Gerald Nyanyofio has re-affirmed his commitment to invest in young folks within LA Dadekotopon constituency.
Interacting with pupils in 5BN, Arakan and Forces Basic Schools, all in the La Dadekotopon Constituency, the former Parliamentary candidate for the constituency admonished them to imbibe and live the values of honesty, loyalty, truthfulness, and above all, the courage to speak the truth at all times and to eschew evil.
He also donated learning and teaching materials to the school, as he furthered to the Airport Police (1&2) Junior High Schools for a similar exercise.
“The donations and interactions are in line with his vision to invest in young folks and help develop human capital, which he considers a tool for the total socio-economic transformation of the lives of constituents”, he said.
The occasion coincided with the 2023 Citizenship Week Celebrations under the auspices of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) on the theme; “30 Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy and Building National Cohesion: The Role of the Ghanaian Child.”
He encouraged them to dream bigger than they believed they could ever achieve. He also charged them to devote themselves wholly to the habit of reading and learning by which they could take full control of their destinies and be future world leaders.
He later visited the Yahoushua and Association Schools as a follow-up and review exercise to interact with pupils. He had engaged similarly the previous year to find out how they are faring a year on.
“I’m optimistic that by paying close attention, and through a series of such concerted engagements with the younger generation, the values of patriotism and national cohesiveness would be instilled into the youth who are going to be change agents for a prosperous future for the nation”, he emphasized.
