The energy Ministry has assured Ghanaians that dumsor is dead and it will never resurrect. The Public Relations Officer for the Energy Ministry, Kwasi Obeng-fosu, made this known on Movement in the Morning Political Show with Kwaku Dawuro.
‘’Ghana experienced power outage under the NDC tenure due to poor management. It became severe to the extent that small medium enterprises started collapsing because they used their profit to buy diesel to fuel their generator”, Kwasi Obeng said.
“The times people had to timetable the days they will sleep at home or at the office is over. The times the light goes off for a week or more is no more. The same people who took the country to dumsor are now calling for equalization so Ghanaians will suffer again”, he added.
He explained that Nana Addo brought a new alternative and for the past five years, we never witnessed power outage.
“Independent power producers who provides the country with electricity were initially using diesel but it was challenging because the diesels were expensive so we decided to channel it to using gas to power since we already has access to gas and it was cost friendly’’, he clarified.
According to the Energy Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the measures government has put in place will never bring back dumsor.
