The Chief Executive Officer for Public Sector Reform, Mr Thomas Kusi Boafo, has pleaded with the New Patriotic Party to ensure that e-levy funds are not embezzled.
Speaking on Movement In The Morning Political Show on Movement TV, he said, “if Ghanaians are aware government is using e-levy for development, it will build trust and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) can brag about it during 2024 election campaign. We need to put in collective effort to take care of the funds to prevent embezzlement”.
“International Monitory Fund (IMF) did not benefit Ghana; the conditions attach continuously increases our debt rate and further impoverish the country. The government has cut down expenditure as part of its effort to reform the country’s financial system”, he added.
He indicated that Ghana is blessed with transformative and competent leaders who are determined to take the country out of debt.
He applauded Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for ensuring the effective delivering of the public sector through digitation which has contributed to curbing corruption in the various public sectors.
E-levy is set to be passed on the 1st of May, 2022 against the minority’s call on supreme court to put injunction on the levy.
