A member of the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, George Kwarteng, has emphatically stated that the only thing that may prevent the party from winning elections 2024 is choosing someone else over Dr. Bawumia as flagbearer.
According to him, the general elections in 2024 will be won based on what the government has been able to do economically. Thus, all the leading aspirants in the NPP flagbearership race come no way near Bawumia including the flagbearer for the NDC.
“Kennedy Agyapong has already made it clear that he can never face the flagbearer for the NDC, Mahama in an economic debate if he’s elected flagbearer for the NPP, because he had already mentioned that the economy is in shambles. Likewise former Trade and Industry minister, Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng, who also said that the NPP may not even get a campaign message for elections 2024 how then do we elect such a person to lead us going into such a crucial election”, he spoke to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Movement TV.
Adding that the only person who believes that the NPP can the general election in 2024 is Bawumia.
“Our records and the NDC’s record are never the same. Per our track records as a party, absolutely nothing could prevent us from winning elections 2024…the only hindrance will be if we vote against Dr. Bawumia as the flagbearer for the party…”, he explained.
Stressing that it’s a done deal for the NPP if Dr. Bawumia is elected as flagbearer for elections 2024 because there will be no campaign message for Mahama and the NDC.
“Mahama can no longer go to the northern belt of the country to tell the indigenes that he’s the only Northerner in the contest so they should vote for him. Dr. Bawumia is a treasure to the party going into the 2024 elections”, he added.
