Ernest Kobeah Was Bribed To Step Down From NDC Presidential Election- Chairman Wontumi

The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has slammed Mr. Ernest Kobeah for accepting bribe to step down from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearership race.

Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi told Wontumionline.com that it has become obvious that somebody bribed the businessman to step aside to create a false impression that the NDC is united ahead of the 2024 elections.

Shortly after withdrawing from the NDC flagbearership race, former President John Dramani Mahama took to his social media page to thank Ernest Kobeah for stepping down.

According to Mr Mahama, the decision by the businessman to step down from the race despite paying nomination fees is “exemplary.”

In a post Mr Mahama shared, he said : “Thank you Ernest Kobeah for your magnanimity in offering me your support to lead our great party, the NDC, to the 2024 elections.”

“Your decision to step down from the contest, even after paying in full the filing fees pegged for the contest is exemplary.”

“May the NDC get better and stronger,” Mr Mahama added.

But Chairman Wontumi insisted that the statement by Mr, Mahama is cystal clear that he has bribed Ernest Kobeah to take that decision.

“I can confidently tell you that John Mahama has bribed his contender to step down. Ernest Kobeah has reduced himself to be cheap by his action. He will live to regret it in the near future because he has sold his credibility to corrupt man who won’t be President again”, Chairman Wontumi said.
