The Bono regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, has said that since 2018, every Senior High School in Ghana has received a project from the government.
He noted that this became necessary due to the free SHS policy and the double track system which brought up certain challenges like accommodation for students.
Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show, he indicated that “it has become a thing of the past now and I’m throwing a challenge to anyone who would say otherwise. When was the last time you heard about this hullabaloo about accommodation and space challenge since 2019? The loud noise about free SHS from the NDC has ended”, he stated.
“What the NDC was able to do is to secure 156m dollars for the purchasing of pads to the SHS students which was given to Lordina Mahama to be in charge and after Ghanaians spoke against it, she took the money. It was even captured in the NDC’s 2012 manifesto, that the existing schools will be expanded of which they obtained money from the world bank but they never did that and these same people have turned around to speak against free SHS”, he added.
“We have a lot to do but winning the election 2024 will be easy if we propagate our projects and policies very well”, he stressed.
