Spokesperson for New Patriotic Party Presidential candidate Honorable Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Dr Prince Amuzu says there will be a hindrance to 2024 election win if internal conflicts are not resolved.
In an interview with Kwaku Dawuro, on Movement In The Morning on Movement TV/Wontumi radio, Dr Amuzu made it known that according to observation from the camp of Dr Owusu Afriyie, one of the issues which would would lead to the party win come 2024 election is to redress and rectify internal issues in the party and among Partisans.
”The party people are on the heart of Dr Afriyie, when you ask him the reason he wants to become president, the first thing he will tell you is that it is because of the partisans. He believes the party is the vehicle to use in getting to your destination so if the engine is faulty, you cannot use it to win in 2024. There has to be some party structures for the partisans to have some motivation that things will fall in place. 2016 elections Nana Addo won with extra million votes but it reduced to five hundred thousand in 2020, parliament had 169, but in 2020 it reduced to 137.
That goes to show you that there’s something going on in the party, and the problem is not that the NDC had gone to do a better campaign, rather it is the unhappy NPP members who are full of complaints and petty issues which Dr Akoto has addressed. He says internal conflicts like DCE and MCE having issues and others are what works against us, so if we don’t work towards resolving it for the partisans to have some hope, it would create a huge problem in the 2024 election.”
