The Chief Executive of the Ghana Library Authority, Siaw Hayford has commended the First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo for the excellent manner she has supported the revamping of public libraries.
He noted that the first lady was not only championing maternal, adolescence, and pediatric healthcare in the country, but was also championing self-learning by building many public libraries across many parts of the country, which had earned her many admirers in the country and beyond.
‘We need to recognize and applaud the selfless devotion to duty by Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo. Reading has become part and parcel of many Ghanaians which will help raise the literacy rate in the country. By the end of this year, she would have built 15 public libraries in the country, he told Kwaku Dawuro in an exclusive interview on Movement in the morning show.
Mr. Hayford expressed the hope that future wives of leaders of the country would emulate such a selfless commitment to the wellbeing of women and children.
