As one of the prominent figures in the #Fixthecountry campaign, Efia Odo revealed to Felicia Osei on Onua FM’s Adwuma Adwuma that she has not abandoned the agenda. She disclosed that she has chosen another path to effect change in the country from her own small corner.
The actress-turned-musician detailed how her life and others were in danger after receiving threats for championing the #FixTheCountry campaign.
Efia Odo added that her good intentions were ignored in the political circus, and she feared for her life.
“It’s something I wanted to do. I wanted to talk about what was going on. I wanted to help the people. I wanted to be a voice for the voiceless, and I had the platform where BBC came to interview me. So it was going in a great direction until it started getting bloody, and people were dying, and I didn’t want those things to happen.”
The Getting To The Bag hitmaker revealed her new strategy to contribute to Ghana’s growth through her foundation, Odo Nti Foundation. She noted that providing clean water for a struggling community or funding underresourced schools through her Non-profit Organisation is her new way of fixing Ghana.
“So now I feel like to fix the country why don’t I use my NGO to try and collaborate with other NGOs and try and bring changes the little way that I can? And that’s just how I want to move forward with my Odo Nti Foundation. If I have to bring water to rural communities. If I’m providing essential things for students. That’s the little thing I can do to help fix the country.”
Efia Odo made her debut entrance to the music industry as a musician with her song, Getting To The Bag, released on January 1 2023.
