David Boakye has asked Ghanaians to forgive former President John Mahama for saying that the Supreme Court ruling that bars Gyakye Qayson from performing his duties as Member of Parliament for Assin North, is a travesty of Justice.
The Bono East Regional Secretary for the New Patriotic Party in a telephone interview on Movement TV stated that the comment from the NDC leader shows that he doesn’t understand law even though he might have command over the English language.
“I am not sure Mahama understands law, he might be able to read English but certainly not the law”, Mr. David Boakye explained.
He stated that Mr. Mahama is setting bad precedent by commenting on legal issues he has little understanding about.
According to him, he finds it intriguing that Mr. Mahama finds fault with the order from the Supreme Court when in the 2020 election petition he filed to the Supreme Court, he equally stated that he wants it to restrain President Akufo-Addo from holding himself as President.
