Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle is proud of Freda Ayisi for committing to play international football for Ghana and adds that the Charlton Athletic midfielder’s “heart beats for Ghana.”
The game kicks off at 17:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium and is the first of two legs between the two teams. The return leg kicks off on Wednesday, February 28 in Zambia.
The English born 29 year old and two time English Women’s FA Cup Final Winner Ayisi recently switched committed to play international football for Ghana.
In her interview, Hauptle said she is happy with Ayisi’s addition and has eyes on more players who are in line to switch to Ghana.
“We are working to find Ghanaians from England but have ancestors from Ghana and she is proud to play for our country. She is a very good footballer and we are working on other four, five players. It’s a process to bring them in but I’m that she committed and her heart is beating for Ghana.”
Ayisi won the FA Cup with Birmingham and Arsenal and is nicknamed the Female Berbatov for her exceptional ball control.
