Frederick Opare Ansah And David Boakye Clash Over 20,000 Bribery Allegations (VIDEO)

The former Member of Parliament (MP) for Suhum Constituency, and an aspiring General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP),  Frederick Opare Ansah has clashed with the Bono East Regional Secretary, David Boakye, over a 20,000Ghana cedi bribery allegation.

On Tuesday, 12th July, 2022 when David joined the discussions on Movement In The Morning Show in the studios of Movement TV, he stated that aside Justin Koduah and John Boadu the rest of the General Secretary aspirants are not serious, they are only lazing around with their campaign. Stating that even Opare Ansah, after his tour last year, if he had put in more effort he would have been a part of the leading contenders for the General Secretary position.

Frederick Opare Ansah responding to the comment on Wednesday, 13th July 2022 stated David Boakye demanded for 20,000 cedis before he organized members from his Region for him as part of his campaign tour.

He said , “I have been going to Bono East and he is not aware because when I got in touch with him to meet the people in his Region, he demanded for 20,000 cedis before he would mobilize his people for me. I will screenshot the conversation between himself and my operations guy; he sent him the message for our meeting but he didn’t respond. It was the assistant Secretary who helped us with the mobilization”.

In addition he stated, ”I was in Techiman last year, when he told me that John Boadu called him to stop my meeting and since he didn’t go with the words of John Boadu, he demanded for money. So I stopped engaging him hence the reason he thinks I am not working. He once told me John Boadu is not worthy of leading the party”.

In response to the allegations David Boakye said, ‘’I am soo sad that because of the statement I made yesterday, Frederick Opare is making such allegations against my personality. One of his team members is my mate from school and he called to tell me Hon. Opare has been trying to reach me  and I told him I was in a meeting earlier the reason I couldn’t pick up his call so I told him to tell him to call back. I didn’t say he hasn’t gone to my Region, I only said he started early but looks like he is not being active”.
