The assistant Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ablekuma North constituency, Adofo Ofori, has lauded President Akufo-Addo for saving many Ghanaian children from the streets through the free SHS policy.
According to him due to the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, the number of children hawking on the streets have reduced drastically because most of them have gone back to school.
In a discussion with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Political Show, Adofo Ofori said, “President has eliminated street hawking among children due to the free SHS policy. The mess that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) created would have prevented poor parents from getting SHS education for their children but the NPP government with the introduction of free SHS policy have afforded everyone the opportunity to enjoy SHS education,” he said.
“Mahama realised the implementation of the free SHS policy will go against the NDC, hence he was quick to introduce what he termed as progressively free SHS; after leaving office, he left a debt of 30million cedis of which he never paid a pesewa. This is because he’s not passionate about education. God richly bless Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for being a man of his words and implementing the free SHS”, he added.
He stated that 20 out of 30 street children are off the street now due to free SHS.
