The Member of Parliament for Agona West constituency, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, has revealed that the free SHS policy has offloaded certain burdens from her.
According to her, she used to spend so much on the education of some constituents, but that has ceased, as they no longer call to ‘worry’ her about school fee among others and that alone is an enough reason the Government’s policies should be embraced.
“The free SHS policy has really helped me as a Member of Parliament (MP). Nowadays when I receive calls from my constituents, it’s about transport fares to send their ward to school, or health conditions; of which the NHIS is also solving a lot of such problems- that has lessened that kind of burden I had as an MP”, she stated.
Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show, she noted that the echoing of hardship by the opposition NDC, is just for propaganda sake- stressing that the Government had admitted on several grounds that there seems to be some economic turbulence, but the Government has work assiduously to ensure that Ghana’s situation looks better than some other countries.
“Ghana is not the only country facing a crisis-it is everywhere but you see, we are better off than we were in 1979, when there was nothing like the Russia-Ukraine war. We are in crisis, but there’s enough food and goods to buy”, she added.
