Free SHS Policy Has Improved The Quality Of Education In Ghana- Krobea-Asante

A deputy National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) George Krobea Asante, has said that the free SHS policy has improved the quality of education in Ghana.

He noted that despite the numerous chastisements from the opposition against the policy, many of the beneficiaries have shown that the policy is producing quality students despite what critics are saying.

Speaking on Movement in the morning show on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV, he said that “when President Akuffo Addo introduced the free SHS policy, there were a lot of controversies around it- as critics said it won’t succeed, as the was nowhere the students would get quality tuition. But glory be to God the results have been really good compared to the previous years- especially with the core subjects that’s English, Science, Mathematics and Social Studies. This is a clear indication that the free SHS has rather improved the quality of students and results than the previous years”, he explained.

He thanked President Akufo-Addo for the introduction of the policy.

“If a child is able to write an examination and pass very well, meaning there is quality in the tuition and the teachers are highly motivated. The teachers have improved their standard of teaching, through more research”, he said.

Adding that “for every year, Nana Addo’s government is saving our parents not less than 6000 cedis. This is the government that cares about his people. Even amidst the crisis, the government has increased the budget for free SHS from 2.3billion to 2.9billion”.

He concluded by thanking the teachers for doing a good job, adding that they should continue and even do more next year
