The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ga West, Clement Wilkinson, has made a bold statement, claiming that if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were in power, the dollar would be equivalent to 22 cedis and fuel would cost 25 cedis.
He attributed the current economic situation to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) vision to rule the country.
Wilkinson warned against voting for the NDC, stating that it would be a mistake to do so based on the current dollar rate.
He emphasized that the NPP has a clear vision for the country’s development, as evident from Dr. Bawumia’s 17 bold statements.
He stated that the NPP has a proven track record of economic management and that the current economic challenges are global and not unique to Ghana.
He also emphasized that the government is working hard to address the issues and ensure a stable economy.
As the political landscape heats up ahead of the 2024 elections, this statement is likely to be a contentious issue.
The NPP and NDC will likely continue to trade barbs over economic management and vision for the country’s future.
